Fertility Benefits
Blueberries are high in vitamin C, antioxidants, fiber, potassium and folate. They’re incredibly anti-inflammatory, which is important because many of the most common conditions that prevent or complicate pregnancy (such as PCOS and endometriosis) involve inflammation. Feel free to add a few tablespoons of nut butter, flax seeds, or hemp seeds to make this smoothie more filling.
This smoothie bowl is simple, but it’s a nutrition powerhouse. Plus, it’s a beautiful violet color!
Ingredients
- 3 frozen bananas (peeled prior to freezing)
- 1 cup frozen blueberries
- 2 tbsp chia seeds (optional)
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
- ⅔ cup milk (or substitute nut milk)
Instructions
- Combine all ingredients in a high-speed blender or food processor.
- Blend the ingredients until a thick and smoothie consistency forms. If needed, add more milk to get the blender moving. However, remember more liquid creates a thinner smoothie while less liquid creates a thicker smoothie.
- Transfer the smoothie to bowl(s). Top with fresh fruit, granola, coconut flakes, or any other toppings.
